This was my last meal in BA. I had been walking around hunting for a book of Argentinian card games. I must have gone to 20 bookstores asking for a book to cover truco, chinchón, etc, but none was to be found. I ended up buying a book just on truco, though I was looking for a more general book a la Hoyle's summary of card game rules.

After all that hunting, I needed a Real Meal. I stumbled into a cute Italian cafe. It was probably sometime after 1pm, standard lunchtime. I saw this crazy sounding sandwich on the menu and felt compelled to try it, not because it sounded delicious but more because I was curious as to how they could get all the ingredients in one place! I believe this is the ingredient list: bread, tomato, lettuce, mayo, cheese, onion, bacon, beef, hard boiled egg, hearts of palm, and olives. Dios mio! Suffice to say, the bread was not up to the task of holding this beast together, but I did pretty admirably regardless. It was actually pretty tasty, but that might be because I was starving! I also had crepes filled with dulce de leche for dessert. So yummy. But seriously, I must have gained 10 pounds on this trip (and it was worth every pound)!
