Water heater! The winds were so heavy at one point, the pilot light burnt out. Fortunately, Beatrice rescued us from cold showers by figuring out how to light it again.

We also thought about washing clothes in the sink here, but we decided to drop off our clothes at a place that had washing machines and had them wash our clothes for us. It's a bit different than in the U.S.--they didn't seem to have a lot of self-service options. It was nice to have clean clothes! The laundry soap they used had a distinctive, pleasant smell that I associated with my time in Argentina. The sheets and towels at the hostel and apartment had the same smell.
