The Royal Library had this amazing exhibit called Everything you can think of is true (the dish ran away with the spoon). As you entered the room, it was dark. The ground was covered in black sand, and there were swings illuminated in red that you could swing on. There were port holes in the wall that you could look through to see artists' sketchbooks. There was also an interesting yet simple soundtrack to add to the ambiance. I lingered there for awhile on my swing just absorbing the atmosphere! The description from the website says:

The Royal Library’s exhibition Everything you can think of is true makes it possible to experience a different aspect of art when one is invited to take a unique peep at the artist’s private sketchbooks from the 1700s to the 20. century, from the known to the unknown and from the sublime to the interesting.

In the sketchbooks we meet the immediate draft, the inspiration of the moment transformed into visual form, without thought of, or rather with a view to later attention and completion. With their fragile spontaneity they let us get very close to art and the artist’s intimate eye – thereby gaining their own aesthetic value and yardstick.

The exhibition is staged by the internationally established all-round artist Robert Wilson who, based on the sketchbook world of unlimited potentials and effortless casualness, has chosen to create an offbeat and beautiful installation that reflects the limitless space of art. Thus the exhibition does not only present a broad selection of spectacular sketchbooks – it is also a work of art in itself.
